Cognitive Processing and the Development of Literacy and Numeracy
New date for cognitive processing course (official title: Cognitive Processing and the Development of Literacy and Numeracy):
Wednesday 28th March, 9:30 until 12:30 at Kesgrave Community Centre.
As a result of attending the course, attendees should expect to:
- Have a richer understanding of what is meant by a cognitive process, the neuroscience related to this, and how key cognitive processes (such as working memory, verbal and perceptual reasoning ability, executive functioning and language processing) influence the ability to develop literacy and numeracy skills.
- Be aware of how emotional processes interplay with the above to impact on learning.
- Understand the links between the development of phonology, language and literacy
